The Maker’s Mark

A Hanko, often crafted from wood or stone, is widely used in Japan for both personal and professional purposes, acting as a trusted mark of authenticity. The MOKAI Hanko is derived from the anatomy of the Moka Pot, with each part designed to spell out the letters of the brand name.

Sashiko

The visual language comprises of Sashiko, a traditional Japanese form of decorative stitching. Often used to reinforce or repair worn fabric or to create intricate patterns on textiles, it has over time, evolved into an art form characterized by its beautiful, geometric designs. The pattern takes the form of topographical contour lines to help you travel through the fabric of togetherness woven by the people of Mokai for you.
South-East Asian
Ephemera

Together with Sashiko maps, think collage-style travel stamps, image cut-outs, and map lines, all pieced together like a travel journal, giving you the feeling of exploring the world through food and coffee, all while simply sitting at Mokai in Bandra.
MOKAI Coffee Cards

Coffee cards make your coffee experience feel a bit more personal, special and curated. Facts about the origin of your drink are paired with flavour notes and brewing methods, giving you a quick bit of trivia to enjoy with your coffee.
MOKAI Restroom

The restroom’s vibrant retro-futuristc posters, inspired by bustling Japanese streets, provide a striking contrast to the café's soft and quaint interiors. MOKAI’s tranquility is punctuated by the restroom’s dynamic visual energy, adding an unexpected touch.

Working with Junglegym was a pleasure. The outcome surpassed our expectations, with a distinctive brand language that truly impressed our first-time visitors. The unique colour Ube was a standout choice that really set us apart from other brands in the market.

Thank you Junglegym for the exceptional branding and for helping us shape Mokai into what it is today!”
